  • To immerse you in the most realistic situation possible, we invite you to bring the gear you believe is appropriate for spending a few days in the forest. Once on site, we will help you put together a well-prepared backpack for your departure.
  • Also, please note that the gear you choose to bring will determine the level of difficulty of YOUR course. We encourage you to step out of your comfort zone by bringing only the essentials. A minimalist equipment kit is available for purchase on-site for $120.00 + tax.

    Recommended Equipment:

  • Transparent water bottle
  • Metal mug
  • Fixed-blade knife
  • Firestarter
  • Waterproof gear for rain or snow — shoes or boots, jacket, hat, and gloves, depending on the season. Wearing proper clothing is essential.
  • A quality sleeping bag and/or warm nighttime clothing (appropriate for the season and forecasted weather conditions).
  • Please bring any personal medications you may need.
  • You may bring snacks such as a mix of nuts and dried fruits. Please be mindful of allergies.
  • Clothing advice:
  • Avoid wearing cotton directly on your skin. Opt for synthetic materials or wool instead.
  • Plant fibers retain moisture. Layering is ideal because it’s easier to adjust your clothing and dry layers without fully undressing.
  • Bring a change of clothes for your return trip, to keep in your car (shoes, socks, etc.).
  • Regarding boots, it’s best to have boots that go at least above the ankles and allow removal of the insulating layer for optimal drying. Otherwise, boots should be roomy enough to wear thick wool socks or insulated liners.
